Welcome to KBD – Where Inspired Interiors Come to Life.
Meet Kim Black, the creative force behind our studio. Settling in Brisbane 16 years ago to raise her family, Kim brings a world of inspiration to her designs. Her passion for interiors is in her DNA—rooted in a childhood, surrounded by creativity. Her mother crafted warm, beautiful spaces filled with colour, texture, and light, while her father designed exquisite furniture and joinery. For Kim, a house was never just a structure— a home was a place filled with soul.
Design is coming to grips with one’s real lifestyle; one’s real place in the world. Rooms should not be put together for show but to nourish one’s wellbeing.
